Governors
The Governing Body comprises 12 Governors. They play a key role in the life of the school. The role of the Governing Body is to work in partnership with the Headteacher, teachers and other staff to achieve the school's vision and aims. They meet twice a term to:
- play a strategic role in the work of the school
- support and challenge the work of the head teacher and her staff
- hold the school to account for the standards and quality of education it achieves; and
- monitor and evaluate educational outcomes.
Three of the Governing Body are Parent Governors.This means that they are or have been parents of children at the school, and have been elected to the governing body by the parents. Parent Governors are usually at school on a daily basis and all other governors can be contacted via the school office.
Governors encourage feedback from parents and can be contacted either through the school office or by approaching them when they are in school. Updates from the Governing Body can be found in the 'Govs corner' of the Steep Tweet.
Each year group has a 'My Governor' who champions a particular Year Group and attends their class assemblies as well as other special events.
