We are Botanists

How do plants grow? Where do plants come from? Do the biggest plants have the biggest seeds?  The children will be identifying their own criteria for sorting seeds and bulbs.  They will use tweezers, magnifying glasses, scissors and a digital microscope to dissect a variety of the different seeds and use drawing & photographs to record their findings.  We are botanists! The seed has germinated, the roots have emerged and the stem and first leaves have arrived but who is looking after the soil? The worms of course! Doreen Cronin lets us explore the diary of a worm and invites us to learn the spelling of the days of the week and review how to correctly use our punctuation marks
